3 SCOT Representatives to India for ASEAN Student Exchange Programme

10 delegates from Brunei Darussalam were chosen to undergo the 10 days programme of the ASEAN STUDENT’s Visit organized and sponsored by the Confederation of Indian Industry. Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) works to create and sustain an environment conducive to the growth of industry in India, partnering industry and government alike through advisory and consultative processes.

CII is a non-government, not-for-profit, industry led and industry managed organization, playing a proactive role in India’s development processes. Founded over 117 years ago, it is India’s premier business association, with direct membership of over 7100 organisations from the private as well as public sectors, including SMEs and MNCs, and an indirect membership of over 90,000 companies from around 250 national and regional sectoral associations.

This ASEAN-India Students Exchange Programe was envisaged by the Prime Minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singh, in 2007 as a familirazation tool to build greater cultural and economic understanding between the two dynamic regions of Asia. The programme has historical, cultural, leadership, academic and economic components, enabling ASEAN students to learn more about the modern, vibrant India. The programme caters the total amount of 210 students across the ASEAN countries, Phillipines, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia,Thailand and Indonesia.
