TELEKOM Brunei Berhad (TelBru) will once again be collaborating with the Student Community Outreach Team (SCOT) from Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) in supporting the Green Xchange 3 Project.
This year’s project will take place in the residential areas of Kg Setia A and Kg Setia B. This was announced during the cheque presentation ceremony from TelBru to SCOT which was held yesterday at the TelBru Headquarters, Old Airport.
The Green Xchange 3 Project is a two-sided approach where low-income earners could benefit as well as incorporating the “Go Green” theme into the project. By incorporating the theme, the project encourages people to collect recyclable materials and exchange them for basic commodities.
The objective also hopes to adapt the habit of recycling among Bruneians as well as to help those with low incomes to have an extra source of sustenance or income.
Present during the ceremony was Hjh Ainee Hayat Hj Bungsu, General Manager of Information Technology, TelBru who presented the cheque to the Deputy Dean of Students Affairs, UBD, Sendi Anak Batu.
Apart from monetary contribution for the project, TelBru will also be providing volunteers.
“TelBru has always been in support for the Green Xchange project and with the success of the first two, TelBru did not hesitate in supporting the third project with the two- prong objective of educating the community in being green and getting rewarded with basic necessities is an excellent approach. It is also very encouraging to see our young future leaders taking a lead at this initiative,” said the general manager.
Previously TelBru has shown their support during the first SCOT Green Xchange Project back in September 2011 and in January 2012.
