about scot

Established in May 2011, Society for Community Outreach & Training (SCOT) is a registered Non-Government Organization (NGO) under the Registrar of Society (ROS) Brunei Darussalam with its mission of being a catalyst for sustainable poverty alleviation in Brunei Darussalam.

As a follow up from our research study entitled ‘An Exploratory Study of Poverty in Brunei Darussalam’, SCOT acts as a bridge on coming up with more sustaining ways and strategies to help the underprivileged by providing them with assistance in the form of resources, basic skills and support to help them move out of the vicious cycle of poverty through our ongoing sustainable projects.

To suggest recommendations to relevant Ministries and Organizations on the appropriate implementations towards alleviating poverty both effectively and efficiently.

To empower the underprivileged on exploring possible sustainable means of earning a living.

To create awareness and to educate the society to propel a sense of communal spirit.

To inculcate a more proactive attitude towards national issues.
