SCOT RUN 2015 – Fight Poverty Through Education

ABOUT SCOT RUN 2015

For the 4th year Anniversary of SCOT; SCOT is organizing awareness and fundraising project entitled; “THE SCOT Run – Fight Poverty Through Education”. The crux of SCOT Run is to promote SCOT’s projects and raising funds to support and further sustain SCOT’s current and future projects which could allow us to grow our projects allowing efficiency and financial stability on executing projects for the underprivileged community in Brunei (and to some extent within the ASEAN region). THE SCOT Run will put an emphasis on the SCOT Education Project and majority of the funds to be raised will be channeled to SCOT Education. The raised funds will serve an additional commitment to provide scholarships to deserving and most progressive student during the project course on the Phase 2 of SCOT Education – empowering and building self-confidence among the students through a 2-week volunteering activity in teaching English to the underprivileged children in Cambodia.

In an effort to publicize the importance of Education and how SCOT Education has helped to bring about positive changes into the lives of participants involved in the project; SCOT has planned a fundraising and awareness project called ‘THE SCOT RUN – FIGHTING POVERTY THROUGH EDUCATION’ to further sustain the project financially which would assist the Organization in the long run to achieve the Wawasan 2035 vision goals of ‘an education strategy that will prepare our youth for employment and achievement in a world that is increasingly competitive and knowledge-based.’

SCOT Run was held at Taman Sir Muda Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien on May 10th, 2015, and saw over 1,500 participants taking part in the charitable event.
