The tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut had brought to our attention and as Christmas is approaching, SCOT as a team felt obliged to send condolences as a way to show that Bruneian citizens do share sympathy for the incident. With a humble card and a teddy bear, we sent it to the US Embassy on the day before Christmas.

On 18th January 2013, the United States Embassy in Brunei Darussalam invited the founder of SCOT, Anuar Mohammad and the six of SCOT members including the current Vice President of SCOT, Zuratul Zulikifli to meet and to personally give thanks. The two US Embassy officers were polite and courteous and had great interest of our future plans, especially as our Green Xchange was approaching on the 27th of January.

At the end of the meeting, we took a photo with the embassy officers with the teddy bear gift in hand. We shook hands and invited them to Green Xchange 4 as our guests. It was a great day for SCOT members to finally have the opportunity to interact with the US Embassy officers and establish a good connection between SCOT and the United States Embassy in Brunei Darussalam.
